Slayer Calf External Call｜ Other Products

Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of an external calf elk call. It’s one of the most useful tools in any elk hunter’s pack, capable of producing everything from soft calf mews to the urgent, emotional cries of a calf separated from the herd.
Sound Like a Calf That Needs Help
A distressed calf doesn’t make one short mew and stop. It calls repeatedly—with urgency and emotion—as it searches for the herd. According to elk-calling expert Joel Turner, that high-pitched sound can trigger a powerful “come help me” instinct in cows and bulls.
Use the Slayer Calf External Call to create drawn-out cries, double mews and emotional calling sequences. Cows may come looking for the calf, bringing the bull with them—or a bull may approach the sound directly. The key is to stay high and in the calf spectrum. Dropping too low can sound like a mature cow and create suspicion instead of urgency.
The Slayer Calf External Call features a modified tone board and reed designed to produce the higher pitch of an elk calf. Its lightweight, one-piece body is made from the same exceptionally durable nylon plastic used to manufacture AR lowers, giving you a dependable call built for seasons of hard use.
Pair it with the Slayer Cow External Call to expand your range of realistic elk vocalizations throughout the season.
