Danny Brown: Atrocity Exhibition - 10th Anniversary Edition (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 2LP - Turntable Lab Exclusive - PRE-ORDER

"Celebrating a decade since the release of this landmark hip-hop album, Warp are proud to present special edition formats of a modern classic. Boasting features from Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, Kelela and B-Real; production from Paul White, Alchemist, Black Milk, Playa Haze, Evian Christ and Petite Noir; and mixed by Derek ‘MixedByAli’ Ali as the cherry on the cake. The melding of Brown’s unique flow and tone with an innovative soundscape, pulling samples from such esoteric sources as 70s German cosmic rock records, radiophonic experiments and industrial techno, set a new high watermark in experimental rap, with tracks like 'Really Doe' and 'Ain’t It Funny' becoming leftfield anthems. For the tenth anniversary, original sleeve designer Ed Davis has come up with new alternate artwork, with the limited 2LP colour vinyl edition housed in shiny silver mirriboard packaging, printed inner sleeves and an 8 page 12” booklet. This is a one time pressing that will not be available again." - Warp Records
Original 2016 Lab review:
Danny Brown borrows from Joy Division and a novel by J. G. Ballard for the title of his 4th album, Atrocity Exhibition, which features guests like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, B-Real, and Kelela. It’s a move telling of the solitude, paranoia, and anxiety that’s at the core of the latest from the Detroit rapper. His singular, exceptional flow delivers verses like "I'm sweating like I'm in a rave / Been In this room for 3 days / Think I'm hearing voices" over off-kilter productions by Paul White, Evian Christ, Black Milk, The Alchemist, Petite Noir, and more, and the psyched-out, flickering beats leave plenty of room for every syllable from the eccentric artist to sharply cut through. Danny Brown is truly in his own hip-hop lane, and no one else could have made this remarkable record.
